Buckland Community Day
On Saturday 26 July, the team had a fab afternoon supporting Portsmouth City Council for their community day in Buckland Community.
We had a range of bikes and helmets and taught so many children to ride for the first time (or without stabilisers) and we helped children who were already keen cyclists with some essential skills and bike set-up.
Every child had brilliant! Great to see such a well organised and well supported event from Portsmouth City Council.
What is HAF?
Holiday Activities and Food is managed by Portsmouth City Council with funding from the Department for Education (DfE).
The programme is designed to provide healthy food and enriching activities during the school holidays to children who receive benefits-related free school meals (self-funded places are also available).
It offers valuable support to families on lower incomes, giving them the opportunity to access rewarding and active activities alongside healthy meals over the school holidays.
We were lucky enough to have photographer, Alex Stanhope, with us all afternoon too. If you spot your child and would like a copy of the photo (free of charge) please drop us a message.
